Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday held separate meetings with new Portuguese, Finnish, Lesotho and Bangladeshi ambassadors to Tehran, where he stressed Tehran's readiness to expand bilateral ties with each of the said states.

At the meeting with the Portuguese envoy, Ahmadinejad received the credentials of the new ambassador, and said Tehran and Lisbon can launch joint cooperation on international issues.



"The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready for active partnership in a bid to help to the rule of logic over the entire global relations and the settlement of international issues on the basis of justice and through logic and talks," he added.



During his meeting with the Finnish ambassador, the Iranian president stressed that Tehran perceives no restriction or boundary for expanding ties with Finland.



The envoy submitted his credentials to Ahmadinejad, and announced his country's interest in expansion of relations and cooperation with Iran in different bilateral and international arenas.



Elsewhere in a meeting with Lesotho's incoming envoy to Tehran, Ahmadinejad expressed the hope that the two countries' relations would experience a better trend of development during the term of the new ambassador.



In his meeting with the Bangladeshi ambassador to Iran, the president underlined, "Iran and Bangladesh will continue their effective cooperation and presence in the international communities."



During the meeting, Ahmadinejad referred to the old, profound and friendly relations between Tehran and Dhaka, and called for the employment of all the ample potentials in different fileds in bilateral relations
