President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his cabinet members arrived in this western provincial capital city Monday morning on a two-day visit.

They were welcomed at the Sanandaj airport by a number of local officials including Kordestan Province's Governor General Esmaeil Najjar.

The president is to address local residents at the provincial capital city’s stadium in a few minutes’ time.

While in the province, he is to inaugurate several development projects, meet families of martyrs and war veterans and hold separate meetings with provincial clerics and elites.

The president is visiting Kordestan on the second round of his provincial tours to follow up the implementation of the projects that had been approved during the first round of the cabinet’s provincial visits.

He is also to chair a cabinet session in Sanandaj.
