"Current developments tell us that we should strengthen our ties more than before and make us sure that we will come to witness greater victories," Ahmadinejad reiterated, adding that global developments have proved the correctness of Iran and Syria's positions in pursuing and standing for the rights.
He further stressed the necessity for maintaining vigilance against enemies, and said, "Although great victories have been attained and enemies are weakening today, enemies and enmities still exist and the danger starts where we imagine that there is no more enmity."
"Thus, we should strongly stand on our own principled stances so that the conditions completely change in the interest of our independent nations," Ahmadinejad added.
"Experience has shown that we have moved on the right path and the high position of Iran and Syria in the region and the world resulted from adopting correct decisions and standing for those decisions," the Iranian president added.
Ahmadinejad further voiced pleasure in Tehran-Damascus developing ties in all the different political and economic fields, and said the two countries' relations are fortunately moving on a correct path.
Naji al-Utri, for his part, lauded Ahmadinejad's strong position against the oppressive powers, and said Iran and Syria should reinvigorate their common strategic viewpoints to further strengthen the front of resistance.
He also described his negotiations with Iranian First Vice President Parviz Davoudi as fruitful, and expressed the hope that the two sides could take long strides towards further promotion of relations, specially in the economic sector, through such talks with Iranian officials.
