He made the remarks in a telephone contact with the Secretary- General of the Islamic Jihad Movement of Palestine Ramadan Abdullah.

"These crimes would not change the situation in favor of the Zionist regime but would worsen its fate and add to its dark record," said the president.

Latest reports said at least 225 people were killed and 400 others wounded when Israeli F-16 bombers attacked Gaza Strip on Saturday and fired around 30 missiles into the densely populated areas of the city.

The savage attacks of the Zionist troops against civilians have triggered international outrage and shocked world public opinion.

President Ahmadinejad said that the Islamic resistance of the Palestinian people was the main cause of Israel's failure and its disappointment.

He expressed the Iranian nation's sympathy with the Palestinian nation on the massive deaths of the youth, women and children in Gaza.

Abdullah appreciated courageous position of the Iranian president about supporting the Palestinian nation and said that recent crimes committed by the Zionist regime have increasingly disclosed the true nature of Zionists and has indicated their weakness vis-a-vis the Islamic resistance which has presently emerged in Palestine, Lebanon, Iran and the entire Muslim World.
