In a phone call with his Syrian counterpart, Bashar al-Assad on Friday, President Ahmadinejad said, "Such blind and aimless acts once again showed that the US has no base in the region and it is failed." President Ahmadinejad said so doing, enemies have always earned blessing and fortune for Muslims and the faithful.
He said the US' savagery and aimless action marks another blunder committed by Americans. "Syrian nation and government defended their country, thus more strongly proving their strength to the
ill-wishers."
He added that regarding Washington's policies and actions, regional and world nations and governments want the US pullout from Middle East.
He noted that under God's grace, greater victories are underway and Iranian government and nation will stand beside their brothers in Syria up to the end.
Al-Assad for his part, thanking Iranian government and nation for their (pro-Syria) stances, called enemies of Muslims "fools" and said, "So doing (by the bombing), Americans tried to deal a blow on Syrian nation but to no avail. The (US) move further united more than 20 million Syrians and had a backlash for (Americans) themselves. Of course, that was among final pages of futile actions the failing government of (the US President George W.) Bush took to save itself." "All the blind moves have brought a rift between the US and its European allies. They (Europeans) are unhappy with Washington's policies," he added, concluding, "Of course regional and global conditions show that Iranian and Syrian nations and governments have been right. We will continue the right way through more unity and fraternity."
