Referring to the report of the Governor of the Central Bank on the agreement reached with South Korea, Japan, Iraq and Oman on the release of Iran's foreign exchange resources, the President said, "Now we are witnessing the hopeful beams of the enemy's defeat in the economic war and the inefficiency of the sanctions, and that the maximum resistance of the people against this full-scale war of the enemy has paid off".

Dr Rouhani added, "Among these fruits is the unfreezing of the unjustified and illegally-blocked foreign exchange resources in Iran, which undoubtedly provides opportunities in the country's economic environment".

Emphasising the requirements and management of the economic recovery period, the President said, "Cohesion and unity is the first priority of the reconstruction period and concentrating all energies and measures to eliminate the damage and losses of the war is essential".

Dr Rouhani clarified, "Any kind of tension and conflict and any action that harms economic stability is a betrayal with the aim of harming the livelihood of the people and the country's economy".

In this meeting, the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade also reported on the implementation status and measures taken within the framework of the implementation of the preferential trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The President called the agreements with the EAEU a good opportunity to develop regional interactions and cooperation and develop trade and economic relations with the member states of the Union, and stressed the need to continue these efforts in various fields.

He said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always taken advantage of peaceful diplomatic measures and de-escalation efforts to achieve this goal, and the preferential trade agreement with the EAEU has been one of the most beneficial and effective measures in the field of international trade in recent years".

Dr Rouhani stated, "Considering the positions of the Islamic Republic in the development of lasting peace and security, Eurasia is a suitable environment whose fruits were revealed during the sanctions and the outbreak of coronavirus, not only for the benefit of Iran but also for the benefit of all neighbouring countries and the region".

The President stressed that we should introduce Iran as a reliable and predictable country in the field of international and trade interactions, emphasising, "We should use Iran's successful experience of preferential trade with Eurasia to increase Iran's presence in new markets and cooperation in the field of  investment, transportation, barter and banking, energy and other trade arrangements, regionally and globally".
