Iran ready to exchange experiences with Niger in all fields, including fighting terrorism/ Iran-Niger's constructive cooperation in int'l issues, forums to achieve the forums' goals/ I'm sure Niger will prevent US' misuse of UNSC for unilateralism

Speaking with the President of Niger, the President praised the country's continued support for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the UN Security Council Resolution 2231, noting, "The root of many of the world's problems today has been the misuse of some countries from the international forums".

"I am very pleased that Iran and Niger share the view that international relations should be based on justice, righteousness and high human values ​​based on independence, solidarity and dignity," added the President.

Speaking with the President of Niger Mahamadou Issoufou by telephone on Monday evening, Dr Hassan Rouhani expressed his satisfaction with the news on how the country is dealing with the outbreak of coronavirus, adding, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has had fruitful efforts in controlling the spread of coronavirus and we are ready to share our experiences with the friendly and Muslim country of Niger".

Referring to the four decades of friendly relations between Tehran and Niamey, the President added, "The two countries have had good cooperation in the fields of mine exploration, health and agriculture, and I hope we can use all our capacities to develop relations between the two countries. Iran is also ready to share its counter-terrorism experiences with the Republic of Niger".

Congratulating Niger on the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council in September, Dr Rouhani said, "Iran and Niger have always been had constructive interaction and cooperation on international issues and forums, including the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, in maintaining independence and neutrality to achieve the goals of these forums".

The President stated, "I am confident that the Republic of Niger, as a member of the Non-Aligned Movement, will act completely independently and professionally during its presidency of the UN Security Council and prevent the misuse of the position of the United Nations and the Security Council for American extravagance and unilateralism, just as it took a very constructive stance against the illegal resolution to extend the arms embargo on Iran".

During the same phone call, the President of Niger Mahamadou Issoufou said, "Relations between the two countries have been very good and friendly for the past four decades, and Niger is ready to deepen these relations in all areas".

Referring to the good cooperation between the two countries in international forums such as the Non-Aligned Movement and the United Nations, the President of Niger expressed satisfaction with the common views of the two countries on international issues and added, "The Republic of Niger has always tried to advance its international cooperation based on important human values ​​and will regulate its actions in the Security Council on the same basis".
