Speaking in a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, President Hassan Rouhani said, "The facts should not be slaughtered under the dagger of distortion, and in this atmosphere, we must help each other to reach the desired point".

Referring to important parts of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution's speech on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the President stressed that we must implement the Supreme Leader's instructions.

Stating that distortion is very painful, Dr Rouhani said, "Sanctions are imposed by the enemy, and distortion is sometimes done by the enemy and sometimes unfortunately inside the country, and this distortion is more painful".

"If we are not willing to give up, which we certainly are not, we will get wounds and problems will arise, and in such a situation, it is important to see the battlefield, sanctions and facts, but some people want not to see sanctions and say why the government has done this or that," said the President.

The president added, "We must destroy the sanctions and cut the hands of the sanctioner, and this is our first duty, and we were able to fulfil this duty during a 100-day period in the 11th government".

At the beginning of his speech, Dr Rouhani congratulated Imam Hadi's (AS) birthday.

Emphasising that no power can harm the country until the day we respect the ballot box and people's votes, the President stated, "Since in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the government, parliament and other pillars of the system are directly and indirectly elected with people's votes, it is meaningless for someone in the White House and on the other side of the world to decide to end the rule of the people and spark turmoil".

Dr Rouhani continued by stating that as long as there is ballot box and elections in the country, the Islamic Republic of Iran will remain in power, adding, "Of course, the enemies can cause trouble for this, but they cannot deprive the country and the people of the system itself and democracy".

In another part of his speech, referring to the Supreme Leader's instructions to the government, the legislature and the judiciary, the President emphasised, "The important topic of economy was discussed at the meeting of the heads of the three branches".
