Promoting ties with African states among Iran’s policies/Iranian companies ready to have more active presence in Senegal

President described development of relations with African countries, including Senegal, as one of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s policies and stressed that Iranian companies were ready to have more active presence in Senegal for carrying out developmental projects.

Speaking on Tuesday in a meeting with the new Senegalese Ambassador to Tehran, President Hassan Rouhani said, “Deepening relations with Senegal, as a friendly, Muslim country, has always been important for Iran”.

“Iranian companies are ready to further develop their active presence in Senegal in different fields, including construction, automobile manufacturing, pharmacy and health services,” he continued.

He also went on to stress the importance of collective fight against terrorism in Africa and the Middle East and said, “Iran is ready to develop its relations with Senegal in the field of combatting terrorism”.

New Ambassador of Senegal to Tehran presented his letter of credence to the President and said that Senegal was determined to cement ties with Iran in all fields of mutual interest, especially economy”.

He also said, “The presence of Iranian businesspeople in Senegal is an honour for us and the government has considered special visa facilities for Iranian businesspeople”.
