After signing of 21 pacts with Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan;

President leaves Baku for Tehran

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran left Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on Thursday to end his official visit to Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, during which 21 cooperation documents were signed.

On the first leg of his trip, Dr Rouhani arrived in Turkmenistan on Tuesday at the official invitation of the President of the country.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkmenistan signed 13 cooperation documents and memoranda of understanding during the visit.

Dr Rouhani left Ashgabat for Merv on Wednesday to make pilgrimage to the grave of Prophet Muhammed’s companions and the footstep of Imam Reza (AS), and then left Merv for Baku later that day.

Upon arrival in Baku, President Rouhani was officially welcomed by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and had a meeting with him.

After the meeting of the high-ranking officials of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the two countries signed 8 cooperation documents and memoranda of understanding.

On Thursday, Dr Rouhani and Mr Aliyev attended the ceremony of opening joint projects between the two countries and the Business Forum of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran left Baku for Tehran after the ceremony.
