At a cabinet session chaired by Dr Rouhani;

Cabinet gives confidence vote to Seyyed Shahabuddin Chavoshi as new Semnan Governor General/ President's advice to the new Governor General of Semnan

The Council of Ministers gave vote of confidence to the new Governor General of Semnan province at a meeting on Wednesday morning under the chairmanship of Dr Hassan Rouhani.

President Hassan Rouhani described Semnan as the cradle of great Maraji, scholars, poets and many mystics throughout history, and considered it as one of the provinces that possesses outstanding cultural and scientific capabilities.

He also described the people of Semnan as religious, cultivated and hard-working, who have great potential for development and progress.

The president further described Mr Chavoshi as being aware of the necessities, priorities and responsibilities of the governorate based on his long-term and valuable record in various responsibilities in the Ministry of Interior from the early years of the revolution.

Dr Rouhani continued to advise the new Governor General of Semnan province to observe moderation and employ moderate and religious experts based on merit, especially young people and women, and emphasised maximum unity among the people of the province.

The President also advised the new Governor General of Semnan province to work towards prosperity of economy, development of employment and industrial development, respecting citizenship rights and development of tourism, especially with regard to remarkable desert attractions in the province and special attention to solving the problem of water with the help of the Ministry of Energy.

Dr Rouhani also appreciated the valuable services of Mr Khabbaz, the former Governor General of Semnan, during his tenure.

The session of the Council of Ministers continued with discussions on pension funds, and a number of proposals from executive agencies.
