Iran, Turkmenistan ink 9 agreements

The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Turkmenistan signed 9 agreements intended to deepen ties and cooperation.

High-ranking officials from both countries signed the documents on Sunday in the presence of President Rouhani and his counterpart, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.

Following this meeting, Health Ministers of both countries signed a memorandum of association on health and medicine.

Another MoU was inked by Ministers of Information and Communication Ministers of Iran and Turkmenistan.

In this meeting, another MoU was signed by the Minister of Energy of Iran and his Turkmen counterpart to construct the Merv-Sarakhs power line.

A similar agreement was also signed between Iran’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Turkmenistan’s state Organisation of Sports.

Construction of Ashgabat-Turkmenabad road was another issue which was agreed on by Minister of Roads and Urban Planning of Iran and the related state organisation of Turkmenistan.

The Managing Director of Islamic Republic of Iran Railways and Turkmen Minister of Railways also inked an agreement on transportation.

Two other agreements were signed by heads of standard organisations of both countries, as well as state television networks.
